It wasn't bad, but the location in San Marcos is better.

When rating restaurants, there are 3 criteria. Food, Service and Cleanliness (Google has it as Atmosphere) So if all 3 are as expected, or par for the course, I will rate the restaurant 4 Stars. If one of them is below, the other 2 need to be above to pick up the slack. That is my standard.I was pleasantly surprised by this gem. I drove by here fairly often and have not even considered stopping in. We are glad we did. The food was excellent, I had the ribeye fried steak and eggs. Very good though the steak was a little on the chewy side. Still above expectations.The server that we got was awkward. Not bad by any stretch but had obviously not had much experience waiting tables. I say this because he interrupted me mid sentence both times he walked back to our table. Interesting. I can tell that they are trained well in customer service because 2 different ladies spoke to us that were not serving us. That tells me that there is training there and we just got an awkward dude. Which is fine hahaThe atmosphere was a little loud for me, it made it hard to hear the conversation at my own table. I think that the old building had something to do with the ambiance so I give a pass here as well.My only negative is I think the prices are a little high but even so, this will be a place that I take out of towners to when they come to visit. Well done! We will be back.

So I've eaten here several times and it has always been great. The last 2 times however, not so much. Their French Toast has always been amazing but now they serve regular bread, not the thick wonderful bread they used in the past. Also, we ordered ham, which we do every time. They gave us 2 slices of Oscar Meyer sandwich ham. Really? Also, I've always gotten the avocado toast in the past but the time before again they cut corners and served me something that definitely wasn't avocado toast. Sorry to see a restaurant with such potential to cut corners in this way. Of course, they still charged me the same prices as they did for the thick bread and regular ham they used to serve. The avocado toast however, they have nearly doubled the price as it used to be.
